Soroptimist International of Brixham Present Literacy Award at Furzeham School

Members of S.I. Brixham attended an Assembly at Furzeham School on Thursday July 2nd. Pupils take part in the Literacy Award annually, and are asked to produce a piece of written work which is judged by members of S.I. Brixham. The winner is presented with a trophy and an Amazon Voucher. A legacy was left to the Brixham Club by a former member , Brenda Kettle, who had an interest in literacy and the Club felt it appropriate to use this legacy to encourage young people’s writing.
