Women inspiring action,

President Christine has chosen Laywell House Residential Home as her charity for this year.

Laywell House was left to the people of Brixham by Mrs Irene Matthey , it was to be used as a non-profit making residential home for the elderly people of Brixham. The Home is managed by a committee of trustees, one of our members Mrs Anne Adams is currently chairperson of the committee and another Mrs Ann Wallace is the secretary. Brixham Soroptimists have had a long association with Laywell, the main lounge was originally re-furbished with funds given by the Soroptimists and is known as the Soroptimists Lounge. President Christine hopes we may be able to do something similar this year.

Members of the Club visit residents on their birthdays taking cards and gifts so no-one is forgotten on their special day.
