I have been a fully active member of SI Brixham since joining in 2002. I annually hold and organize the Tea Tent at the August Steam Fair, which has raised a considerable amount of money for local charities over the last 16 years. I have been in farming all my life, having been brought up on my parents beef and sheep farm. I married Richard in 1977 and we ran a dairy and beef herd. In 2007 we split a partnership with his brother and my husband and I started The Watton Aberdeen Angus herd. We now have 40 pedigree cows running alongside 30 angus X cows, which calve from the beginning March to end of May. We are now selling our beef in the local butchers shop and it can be sampled in some local pubs! We also run a flock of 60 commercial sheep which lamb at the end January / February. We also grow 100 acres of cereals of wheat and barley. I love working outside with the animals between running the farmhouse B&B and gardening. I have 3 children. A son Steve who is a professional footballer who has 2 children; my two grandchildren, Brooke and Jamie. My eldest daughter Kate is a GP in Woking London, and my youngest daughter Helen is a P.E Teacher in Bath. My hobbies are based around sport, walking, good books and good food (perfect for a soroptimist)!

I was born into a farming family at Dartmouth in the 1950’s. I married Roger Hunt in the 1970’s and we made our home on the family farm in Stoke Gabriel. Roger and I started a caravan park on the farm which our family help us to run. Richard and Annette were both born in the 1980’s and Richard, his wife Angie and our grandson Ryan have taken over the business.
I joined Brixham Soroptimists in 2007 and soon became involved in many of the Soroptimist aims, I became the chairman of the social comittee in 2010 giving me the opportunity to take part in two of my hobbies cooking and eating. Other hobbies are walking, travelling and shopping.
I went to my first SIGBI conference in Manchester which was most educational and inspirational. I will support and help our president Jean and wish her a happy and successful year.
